Former MACC chief commissioner Latheefa Koya has criticised Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s explanation over the decision to charge only two of the eight Sabah assemblymen implicated in a controversial mining scandal.

She argued that Anwar’s claim that evidence against the others was limited to video recordings was misleading, stressing that whistleblower Albert Tei had also provided a 300-page dossier, including bank transfers, WhatsApp conversations, and time-stamped data.
Latheefa accused Anwar of “misleading Parliament” and said the Madani government was turning a blind eye to corruption, acting no differently from past administrations accused of protecting political elites.
