MOH Submits Budget 2026 Proposals to Tackle Diabetes and Obesity

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has submitted new proposals to the Ministry of Finance for Budget 2026, focusing on tackling non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes and obesity. Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said several engagement sessions had been held with Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan to present additional proposals beyond the basic budget.

He stressed the importance of preventive, promotional and predictive healthcare, alongside curative hospital care. The MOH aims to strengthen population health management through public health initiatives. Budget 2026, aligned with the MADANI Economy framework, will be tabled in Parliament on 10 October.
