KUALA LUMPUR – A new report by think tank Iman Research titled “Orang Kita: The Politics of Acknowledgement and Resentment” has highlighted widespread frustration among youths towards the political and elite class, which they associate with constant infighting. Research director Aziff Azuddin said young respondents expressed fatigue with politicians and the wealthy, citing them as out of touch. The report also noted disillusionment over perceived broken reform promises by the current government, particularly pointing to Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s discharge not amounting to acquittal (DNAA) in corruption cases, which participants viewed as political compromise and betrayal.
