BUTTERWORTH – Parti Bersepakat Untuk Hak Rakyat Malaysia (Urimai) slammed DAP Youth (DAPSY) for defending individuals involved in the upside-down Jalur Gemilang incident, calling it “shameful” and insensitive ahead of Merdeka celebrations. Urimai secretary Satees Muniandy questioned DAPSY’s motives, accusing them of normalising disrespect toward the national flag. He further asked whether their defence was racially motivated, noting many DAPSY leaders hold government positions. Satees stressed ignorance is no excuse under the law and urged DAPSY to stop downplaying the matter, warning that continued defence undermines national unity and public trust.
