JAKARTA: A 63-year-old convicted serial killer, identified as Ibin, has been arrested in Central Java for allegedly poisoning a married couple with cyanide-laced coffee during a bogus money-doubling ritual. The victims, MR, 37, and NAT, 34, who were struggling with debts, died on Aug 10 after consuming the coffee at a quarry in Pemalang regency. Ibin, previously jailed for murdering nine people with the same method, was released on parole in 2019 after serving 15 years of a 20-year sentence. Police said he had also attempted to poison another man last year but failed when suspicions arose.
