KUALA LUMPUR – Former prime minister Najib Razak, jailed since 2022 over the 1MDB scandal, has marked three years behind bars by sharing a poetic reflection on his prison life. In the note, he described waking to the call of prayer and finding solace on a simple prayer mat he called his “faithful companion.” Najib wrote that family and public prayers give him strength: “Luka dan parut di hati, hanya ALLAH yang tahu.” He ended with quiet optimism, hinting at eventual justice: “Three years have passed… the prayer mat has been my companion. That moment will come. When….”
