KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 23 — Selangor and Malacca DAP Youth wings have joined calls urging the party to sever ties with Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh, accusing him of acting as a Perikatan Nasional agent and stoking racial tensions. They cited Akmal’s “hypocritical theatrics,” misleading statements, and double standards over the Jalur Gemilang controversy, despite facing his own court charge for disturbing public order. MCA had earlier also criticised Akmal, with its Youth wing calling him divisive and irresponsible for exploiting sensitive issues. Both parties urged unity government leaders not to legitimise Akmal’s “gangster-style politics.”
