PETALING JAYA: A 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck Johor early Sunday morning (Aug 24), with tremors reported across several states. The Malaysian Meteorological Department said the quake occurred at 6.13am, with its epicentre located 5km west of Segamat (2.5°N, 102.8°E) at a depth of 10km. Residents in Johor, Negri Sembilan, Melaka and southern Pahang reported feeling the tremors, though no damage or casualties have been reported so far. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely, and the Meteorological Department confirmed that the quake posed no tsunami threat.

Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, stated that he had contacted Segamat District Officer, Mohd Ezzuddin bin Sanusi, who confirmed that there have been no reported casualties or damage to property.
