Former myBurgerLab COO Andrew Chong has been arrested after a viral post criticising the Terengganu government’s decision to fine and jail Muslim men who deliberately skip Friday prayers.

Despite apologising and deleting the post, Chong was dismissed by the burger chain’s founder and is now under a two-day remand until August 26. Police confirmed he is being investigated under the Sedition Act, Penal Code, and Communications and Multimedia Act. 

In a separate case, Lawrence Teo was arrested for a post about an alleged attack on Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s residence. He faces a four-day remand while investigations continue.
