A Malaysian teacher says scrapping UPSR and PT3 has left students unable to master basic skills like multiplication or Bahasa Melayu. Without exams as checkpoints, students drift through school unprepared, lacking discipline, focus, and foundational learning.

Netizens apparently shared their confusion towards the entire situation. They state that parents were previously complaining about the rigidness when it comes to preparing for these exams, and the costs that come with it such as tutioning. However, it seems that these exams may be necessary.
A tuition teacher claims that there are those who are 11 and 12 years old who aren’t able to write an essay. The teacher adds that once these students enter secondary schools, their new teachers may be confused as to why they’re unable to do simple tasks.
