KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29 — The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) has warned the public of a man posing as a firefighter to scam victims into giving him money. Selangor JBPM director Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail said the suspect, claiming to be based at the Kapar Fire and Rescue Station, contacted people via TikTok and eateries in Kapar, borrowing money using a fake identity and even placing false food orders. Several victims reportedly sought him at the station after being deceived, while a restaurant frequented by firefighters was also tricked into sending money through a QR code.
