KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 30): Former attorney-general Tan Sri Tommy Thomas has objected to several parts of Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s witness statement in his ongoing defamation suit over the book “My Story: Justice in the Wilderness.” Najib is suing Thomas and publisher GB Gerakbudaya Enterprise Sdn Bhd, alleging the book defamed him by linking him to the 2006 murder of Mongolian model Altantuya Shaariibuu. High Court judge Khadijah Idris fixed Sept 19 to hear oral submissions on the objections. Najib, who filed the suit in 2021, is seeking damages and removal of the allegedly defamatory passages.
