KUALA LUMPUR: The mass protests in Jakarta against attempts to weaken democracy should serve as a reminder for Malaysia, said MUDA National Mobilisation Chief, Rahmat Amran. He stressed that Indonesians’ rejection of power abuse reflects similar frustrations in Malaysia, citing the death of Zara Qairina Mahathir as an example of systemic failure. Rahmat warned that Malaysian leaders risk losing public trust by prioritizing mega projects over people’s welfare. He urged citizens to remain courageous in demanding justice and accountability, declaring that the people’s voice will never be silenced as long as inequality and abuse persist.
