Police are investigating a case involving fake TikTok accounts impersonating a Kedah politician to conduct financial scams. Kedah deputy police chief DCP Baderulhisham Baharudin confirmed that the Padang UMNO division chief lodged a report after discovering two accounts under the names @chegumadi and @cheggumadi using his photo, name, and AI-generated voice.

Authorities warned that such scams could trick the public into believing they were engaging with the real politician, especially through fake financial aid offers. The public is urged to remain cautious, verify suspicious offers using the CCID Semak Mule app, or call the National Scam Response Centre hotline (997).
