The lack of proper accessibility and options for commuters is a subject of debate among social media users. Apparently, a report published by BFM on X says that Klang Valley residents are losing 500 hours a year in traffic jams. For most commuters, driving their cars is the most convenient mode of transportation.

Some users state that either building more highways or rapid transit lines may not be the solution to this. However, less concentration in Kuala Lumpur itself, and focusing on more offices outside of it could be an alternative. Another alternative is to encourage more work-from-home arrangements.

This is due to the rapid transit lines taking a much longer time in comparison to driving.

Others blamed the commuters for not seeking out other alternatives. Carpooling is a good alternative according to an X user, but some state that not many Klang Valley residents have the privilege to access public transportation, or would have an acquaintance they’d know who’s going in the same direction.
