Man suspected of killing Nur Farah Kartini has his remand extended today

KUALA LUMPUR: Thai authorities arrested a Malaysian man in his 40s after discovering two M4 rifles and over 450 rounds of ammunition in his car during a roadblock in Sadao, Songkhla. The suspect, driving a Malaysia-registered Kia Optima, was stopped near Ban Dan Nok police post at 5.35pm. Checks uncovered two M4 rifles, 300 rounds of 5.56mm bullets, 100 rounds of .45 calibre, 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and seven magazines. Investigations revealed he was hired to smuggle the weapons into Malaysia. Thai media reported he has prior convictions in Malaysia for assault and drug trafficking. Investigations are ongoing.
