Zambry: No Malaysian Students Involved in Indonesia Protests

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir confirmed that no Malaysian students are involved in the ongoing demonstrations across Indonesia. The ministry, through Education Malaysia and Wisma Putera, is closely monitoring developments to ensure the safety of more than 1,200 Malaysian students currently studying there.

While the protests have spread beyond Jakarta to other regions, regular communication is maintained with students to provide safety updates and reminders to avoid protest areas. Zambry expressed confidence that Indonesian authorities will manage the situation responsibly, noting that Indonesia’s stability also contributes positively to Malaysia and the wider region.
