PETALING JAYA, Sept 3 — Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir expressed confidence that MCA and MIC will not be swayed by PAS to back the opposition in the 16th general election. He said both parties, as BN co-founders, are seasoned in politics and committed to principles of racial harmony and moderation. Zambry accused Perikatan Nasional (PN) of exploiting internal dissatisfaction within MCA and MIC towards the unity government. BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi also dismissed PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man’s invitation, stressing neither MCA nor MIC had formally discussed leaving BN.
