KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 5 — A coalition of 23 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) has called on Putrajaya to cancel United States President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to Malaysia for the ASEAN Summit 2025. In a joint statement, the groups announced a protest march scheduled for Sept 6, urging Malaysians to oppose Trump’s presence. They accused Washington of complicity in Israel’s ongoing genocide against Palestinians, describing the situation in Gaza as a humanitarian catastrophe. The NGOs further criticised Trump’s policies, claiming his administration demonstrated blatant disregard for Palestinian lives and directly enabled violence. Malaysia has consistently maintained strong support for Palestine.
