Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently announced a one-off RM100 cash aid for all Malaysians aged 18 and above, distributed via MyKad from August 31 until December.

However, controversy erupted after it was revealed that fugitive businessman Jho Low is also listed as eligible for the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programme. 

Politician Koo Shiaw Lee highlighted the issue on social media, criticising the policy as favouring the rich while ordinary Malaysians face restrictions. Meanwhile, the MyKasih system, which processes the aid, experienced delays on launch day due to an overwhelming surge in transactions, leaving shoppers frustrated nationwide.
