PUTRAJAYA — UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed the party has not received any appeal letter from former Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin regarding his 2023 expulsion. Speaking Thursday, Zahid dismissed claims that Khairy had submitted an appeal through his aide. Khairy, who was expelled alongside Tan Sri Noh Omar in January 2023, recently indicated openness to returning to UMNO after Youth chief Akmal Saleh offered to assist him. Despite speculation, Zahid stressed no formal appeal has reached UMNO to date. The development leaves Khairy’s political comeback within UMNO uncertain as party leaders await official communication.
