KOTA KINABALU – MCA president Dr Wee Ka Siong has clarified that former party president TS Dr Chua Soi Lek never suggested MCA should leave Barisan Nasional. He said Dr Chua’s remarks in a Malaysiakini interview last month were misinterpreted, stressing that the context was incomplete. “I also watched the interview and spoke to Tan Sri. He never said we should quit Barisan,” Dr Wee said after officiating the Sabah MCA AGM. Dr Chua was previously quoted as urging MCA to leave if barred from contesting lost seats, a statement Dr Wee said was misunderstood.
