KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 6 — Forensic pathologist Dr Jessie Hiu has lodged a police report after receiving alleged online threats following her testimony in the inquest into the death of 13-year-old Zara Qairina Mahathir. Kota Kinabalu police confirmed investigations have been opened with assistance from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission. Dr Hiu, who testified that Zara’s fall was unlikely accidental or forced, became a target of online criticism. Lawyer Hamid Ismail, representing Zara’s mother, urged the public to respect her expertise. Dr Hiu has served at Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s forensic department since 1998.
