KUALA LUMPUR: National wushu star Lee Jia Rong clinched Malaysia’s fourth gold medal at the 17th World Wushu Championships in Brasília, Brazil, on Saturday.
Jia Rong topped the Daoshu event with 9.776 points, edging Hong Kong’s Michelle Yeung on difficulty despite tying on score. It was her first individual gold at the tournament and her second medal after winning bronze in Gunshu earlier.
Malaysia’s other golds came from Tan Cheong Min (women’s Nangun) and Si Shin Peng, who secured double victories in Jianshu and Qiangshu.
