The Dewan Negara has passed the Countervailing and Anti-Dumping Duties (Amendment) Bill 2025, aimed at protecting Malaysian industries from unfair international trade practices. Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Liew Chin Tong said the amendments cover products dumped at lower prices than in their origin country and those subsidised by producing nations.

He noted that previous laws were insufficient to tackle modern trade issues. MITI has introduced the TRIMA system, enabling SMEs to file petitions digitally at no cost. The government also provides technical advisory services and collaborates with agencies to strengthen enforcement, including in the e-commerce sector.
