PUTRAJAYA, Sept 7 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s former aide, Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, has been cleared of alleged involvement in the Sabah mining scandal. Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Azam Baki said investigations found no exploration licence was ever issued to Farhash’s company. The Attorney-General’s Chambers concluded no charges could be pursued under the MACC Act, Penal Code, or any other law. Azam clarified that although Farhash’s company applied for a mineral exploration licence in 2023, it failed to submit the required documents. The application was terminated in March 2025, and the case is now closed.
