KUALA LUMPUR – Authorities have called for calm after a rioting incident during the eviction of 37 terrace houses in Kampung Sungai Baru. Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail reminded the public to rely on verified information, stressing safety remains a priority. Three men were arrested, while Dang Wangi police chief ACP Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman sustained a head injury from a thrown stone. Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus warned stern action against anyone provoking or harming officers, noting some non-residents were believed to have deliberately incited unrest. Minor civilian injuries were also reported.
