KOTA SARANG SEMUT — PAS Central Ulama Council chief, Datuk Ahmad Yahaya, stressed that the party’s main focus is to secure victory in the 16th General Election (GE16) before deciding on a Prime Minister candidate.
PAS Confident
He said PAS has never named a Menteri Besar candidate in states it governs, yet leaders are always chosen when the time comes. He added that the post of Prime Minister also requires the consent of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Ahmad further stated that PAS is confident its leader will be given the opportunity to lead the country at the right time, while stressing that the current priority is to mobilize the party machinery to topple the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional government.
