KUALA LUMPUR – Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has sarcastically expressed surprise at news that he supposedly owns assets in the United Kingdom (UK).
“I didn’t even know I had property in the UK. Please, someone tell me where it is so I can quickly claim it. Once I get it, I’ll give it away to the poor,” the former prime minister quipped.

Mahathir suggested the probe was merely a tactic to delay his lawsuit against Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. “It’s been two years, and still no courage to go to court. So now they say I own UK property – perfect excuse to drag it out even longer,” he said with biting sarcasm.
