KUALA LUMPUR – Economy Minister Datuk Seri Johari Ghani has held the developer fully responsible for delays in the Kampung Sungai Baru redevelopment, stressing that homeowners have suffered long enough. He said the government has already granted Planning Permission and a Development Order, leaving the developer with no excuse to stall. Johari urged immediate construction, starting with at least two blocks, to restore the homes and rights of affected residents. He also voiced concerns about the developer’s financial and operational capacity, warning that any failure to secure financing could further jeopardise the project. The government, he said, will not compromise.
