KUALA LUMPUR 15, Sept, 2025 — Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng has challenged PAS to prove its sincerity over the proposal to introduce Mandarin and Tamil in national schools by first offering the languages in its own preschools, Pasti.
The call comes after PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man suggested both languages be made part of the national curriculum to promote unity.

In response, PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden said the idea could be considered, adding that Pasti’s current focus is religious education. “I agree not only Mandarin but Tamil should also be taught in Pasti, because these languages are created by Allah,” he said, indicating openness to the DAP proposal as optional subjects.
