Deputy Director Dr Anuar Ahmad explained that these classes were introduced upon parental request, requiring at least 15 students per class. The Ministry of Education provides trained teachers when demand is met.
The initiative, recently proposed by PAS, aims to foster national unity and reduce racial suspicion. Dr Anuar emphasized that the education system already embraces linguistic diversity beyond Malay, English, and Arabic, and expressed hope for broader language offerings in SKs.
