The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is intensifying its anti-graft efforts by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and digital systems to streamline investigations and enhance governance.
MACC deploying AI for anti-corruption
Deputy Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya said AI helps detect suspicious transactions, build financial networks, and shorten probe durations from years to months. Platforms like Sentinel enable early warnings on lavish lifestyles and risky projects.
MACC also introduced tools for internal monitoring, public outreach via TikTok avatar SARA, and blockchain-backed transparency in procurement. While embracing tech, MACC is reinforcing cybersecurity and data governance to safeguard sensitive information and maintain public trust.
