PUTRAJAYA – Rosmah Mansor has failed in her appeal at the Court of Appeal to remove Judge Datuk Mohamed Zaini Mazlan, who had sentenced her to 10 years’ imprisonment and fined her RM970 million on September 1, 2022. A three-judge panel led by Datuk Ahmad Zaidi Ibrahim dismissed the appeal after finding Rosmah’s team failed to show sufficient merit. The panel also included judges Datuk Azman Abdullah and Datuk Noorin Badaruddin.
Court of Appeal upholds High Court ruling
Rosmah, 74, was convicted on three corruption charges involving the RM1.25 billion hybrid solar project for 369 rural schools in Sarawak. The 10-year jail sentences run concurrently, while failure to pay the fine could add 30 years in prison. However, the court has allowed a stay of execution of the sentence pending her main appeal.
