PETALING JAYA: The Kuala Lumpur High Court has granted an order preventing the company secretary of Ilham Tower Sdn Bhd and Ilham Baru Sdn Bhd from disclosing documents to third parties, including the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), without approval from the companies’ director. The ad-interim stay, issued on Wednesday (Sept 17), followed an application by the two firms amid ongoing forfeiture proceedings against Ilham Tower.

Lawyer Nizamuddin Hamid said disclosures can only be made with consent from his client, Toh Puan Nai’mah Khalid, widow of former finance minister Tun Daim Zainuddin. He added that the company secretary had earlier been served with an order under Section 30(1)(b) of the MACC Act. MACC previously moved to seize Menara Ilham, despite no convictions recorded.
