Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says Malaysia’s halal industry has grown into a global ecosystem spanning healthcare, cosmetics, tourism, and Islamic finance.
Malaysia’s Halal Goes Worldwide
Speaking at the Global Halal Summit 2025 and MIHAS, he described halal as a symbol of integrity and faith-based values, not just a label. With nearly 10,000 Jakim-certified companies—80% of them SMEs—Malaysia’s halal certification is now recognised in almost 50 countries.
Anwar pledged continued efforts to position halal as a universal economic model, including in non-Muslim nations like China. Key ministers and officials attended the event, reinforcing Malaysia’s commitment to expanding halal’s global reach.
