KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 19 — The High Court today dismissed Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s bid to amend his judicial review application concerning an alleged addendum order permitting him to serve his prison sentence under house arrest. Justice Alice Loke Yee Ching ruled that the amendments, including a supporting affidavit from Najib’s son Datuk Mohd Nizar with a January 4, 2025 letter from the Sultan of Pahang’s office, went beyond updating facts and would prejudice respondents.

The court also rejected the Attorney General’s Chambers’ application for a gag order, saying existing defamation and contempt laws were sufficient to safeguard fairness. The AGC was ordered to pay RM20,000 costs to Najib. Najib, 72, seeks disclosure of the purported document dated January 29, 2024.
