ST. PETERSBURG, Sept 20 (AP) — A federal judge has dismissed former U.S. president Donald Trump’s $15 billion defamation lawsuit against The New York Times. U.S. District Judge Steven Merryday ruled the complaint was overly long and filled with irrelevant, “burdensome” language.

He stressed that a legal filing “is not a megaphone for public relations” and must follow procedural standards. Trump has 28 days to submit a revised complaint not exceeding 40 pages. The lawsuit targeted articles and a book by Times reporters examining Trump’s finances, television career, and early business dealings, which he claimed were maliciously false.
