KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 20— Fewer than half of Malaysians are satisfied with the country’s education system, an Ipsos global survey revealed. Malaysia recorded a 44 per cent positive rating, among the lowest globally and the weakest in Southeast Asia. Respondents cited unequal access, poor infrastructure, and limited technology use as the main challenges, reflecting similar concerns in Indonesia and Thailand.

Only one in four Malaysians expressed optimism about technology’s role in education, though more were open to AI tools compared to the global average. Mental health emerged as the top concern, with 37 per cent identifying it as the most pressing issue for youth, surpassing worries about bullying or social media. The survey polled 23,700 adults across 30 countries.
