UMNO Secretary-General, Datuk Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, alleged that Pas had held meetings with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi without the knowledge of its main partner in Perikatan Nasional (PN), Bersatu President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. According to him, this act proved that Pas prioritised political maneuvering over consistent principles with its coalition partners.

Asyraf further claimed that he knew the individual who acted as the go-between in these secret meetings, the same person who once arranged similar talks with UMNO. He raised these allegations during the Lebih Masa podcast hosted by Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad. Asyraf stressed that UMNO had never betrayed its allies, unlike Pas, which frequently shifted positions.
