KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 20 — Lawyers representing Muhammad Yusoff Rawther have written to Inspector-General of Police Khalid Ismail seeking updates on a police report lodged on Sept 12 last year against Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his former aide, Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak. The report was filed after Yusoff’s arrest on drug-related allegations, which he claimed was a frame-up.

His counsel, Rafique Rashid Ali, stressed that failure to act would prejudice Yusoff’s rights and asked whether an investigation paper had been opened and if Anwar and Farhash had been summoned. Yusoff was acquitted in June after the High Court ruled the prosecution failed to prove he had knowledge or custody of the seized drugs and fake firearms.
