KUALA LUMPUR – The Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) issued 42,288 advisory notices during the five-day Advocacy Campaign under the Road Law Compliance Operation (Op PUU) from Sept 16 until yesterday.

According to police, 4,186 pedestrians were penalised for jaywalking, followed by 2,328 cases of vehicles stopping in yellow boxes, and 1,758 instances of stopping beyond the white line. Other offences included dirty, unclear or fancy vehicle number plates (1,843), non-compliant plates (1,343), failure to wear seat belts (259), failure to wear helmets (1,633), and illegal motorcycle modifications (872).
Authorities confirmed Op PUU will be fully enforced starting Oct 1, with summonses replacing advisory notices for traffic violations.
