SHAH ALAM, Sept 23 — UMNO Youth has called on all parties, including PAS Youth, to sit down and discuss concrete solutions to the Urban Renewal Act (URA) before deciding to stage a protest.
UMNO Youth Chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh stressed that any rally without solutions would only bring negative consequences to the people. He reiterated UMNO’s stance of rejecting the URA but said the party wants to propose constructive alternatives.

On September 23, Barisan Nasional (BN) will hold a forum titled “Urbanisation and URA: Malay Urban Survival” at UMNO headquarters. Akmal added that if the government still refuses to accept recommendations after discussions, then joint protests could be considered.
