ASEAN reaffirmed its commitment to deepening ties with China through key trade agreements, emphasizing openness, inclusivity, and multilateralism. Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz highlighted the strength of ASEAN-China relations, noting China remains ASEAN’s largest trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching US$772.2 billion in 2024.

At the 24th AEM-MOFCOM Consultation, both sides pledged to address trade concerns through respectful dialogue and to strengthen cooperation amid global uncertainties. Tengku Zafrul urged collective action to ensure the partnership delivers real benefits to citizens and contributes to regional stability.
