KUALA LUMPUR: The implementation of the Budi Madani RON95 (BUDI95) programme will enable eligible Malaysians to save up to RM200 monthly, said Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.
He explained that the reduced price of RON95 at RM1.99 per litre demonstrates the government’s commitment to easing living costs. Based on current market prices of RM2.60 to RM2.75, Malaysians effectively enjoy subsidies worth between RM183 and RM228 monthly.

“This reflects the government’s serious effort to reduce the burden of rising expenses on the people,” Amir Hamzah said during a media briefing on Tuesday.
On Monday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the RON95 price will remain at RM1.99 per litre from September 30, regardless of income level.
