Business tycoon Tan Sri Abu Sahid Mohamed and former construction director Datuk Yap Wee Leong have pleaded not guilty to 19 charges involving RM754.6 million linked to the proposed MEX II highway project.

RM754 Million MEX II Scandal

Abu Sahid faces one criminal breach of trust charge for allegedly misappropriating RM145.5 million, while Yap faces nine counts each of false claims and money laundering totalling RM609 million. The court approved a joint trial and transferred the case to Kuala Lumpur.

Bail was maintained at RM1.5 million for Abu Sahid and RM1 million for Yap. Both men surrendered their passports and await mention on November 3.
