SINGAPORE, Sept 25 — A suspicious parcel prompted the evacuation of Al-Istiqamah Mosque in Serangoon after police were alerted around 5:20pm. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed officers found an “unknown” parcel on the premises. As a precaution, the mosque was evacuated, and the surrounding area cordoned off. HazMat Specialists conducted thorough checks and confirmed no hazardous substances were present.

One individual was assessed for breathlessness and taken to Sengkang General Hospital. The Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (Muis) acknowledged the incident in a statement, confirming it is working closely with the authorities. Police have urged the public to avoid the area while investigations continue. SCDF vehicles remained on site late into the evening as the situation was secured. Investigations are ongoing to determine the nature of the parcel.
