SHAH ALAM, Sept 25 — Former MCA vice-president Ti Lian Ker described DAP’s cooperation with UMNO as a “love-hate paradox,” accusing the party of hypocrisy in its political strategies. He recalled how DAP once mobilized its “Asalkan Bukan UMNO (ABU)” slogan to radicalize supporters against UMNO, MCA, and MIC, branding MCA loyalists as traitors.

Ironically, he said, UMNO leaders who left or were ousted were later embraced by DAP, including Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, whom the party once labeled a dictator. Ti also accused DAP of exploiting Malay NGO figures as “window dressing” while pushing its Malaysian Malaysia agenda. He claimed the party’s strategies secured 95% of Chinese votes without addressing real ethnic and religious issues.
