KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 — The High Court heard today that former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak was a dishonest man who repeatedly shifted blame over the embezzlement of SRC International Sdn Bhd’s funds. SRC’s lawyer, Lim Chee Wee, submitted before judge Ahmad Fairuz Zainal Abidin that Najib knew RM42 million from SRC was deposited into his personal account yet failed to disclose it to the cabinet.

Lim argued Najib cannot scapegoat SRC for loan procurement and approvals, as these fell directly under his authority. He further contended that Najib, deemed the company’s shadow director, bypassed due diligence and fostered conditions enabling the fraud. Najib and former SRC CEO Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil, currently at large, are facing a US$1.18 billion lawsuit.
