KUALA LUMPUR: About 300,000 Armed Forces and police personnel are the first to use the new Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) subsidy, effective Sept 27. They will pay RM1.99 per litre, compared to the market price of RM2.05. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the targeted subsidy rollout on Sept 22. The program begins with security forces.

It is followed by Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) recipients on Sept 28. On Sept 30, 16 million eligible Malaysians will be included. All citizens with valid driving licences qualify, capped at 300 litres monthly, except e-hailing drivers, who can apply for additional subsidies to support their work.
